Restart Keycloak Cluster

What is the purpose of restarting the Keycloak cluster?
Restarting your Keycloak cluster can be necessary in various situations to ensure stability, apply updates, or recover from issues.
Common reasons to restart Keycloak include:
- Resolving stuck processes or degraded performance
- Recovering from degraded performance or unresponsive services
- Forcing synchronization after changes
- Reinitializing the cluster after modifying a configurations
With Cloud-IAM, you can safely perform a full cluster restart directly from the Cloud-IAM Console without manual server access required.
How to restart Keycloak cluster
To trigger a Keycloak cluster restart via the Cloud-IAM Console:
- Open Cloud-IAM console
- Select the Keycloak deployment you want to restart.
- Navigate to
Pilot
tab - Select
Restart
- Click on
Restart Keycloak
- In the confirmation popup, click
Restart Now
to start the process
The restart process takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete.

What to expect
This action performs a rolling update of your Keycloak cluster without downtime. For deployments using Keycloak v25 or later, user sessions will remain active with no loss during the restart.
